About BOPHELONG COMMUNITY CENTRE
Founders
Bophelong Community Centre was established by Titus and Sibongile Sithole, who are also the founders of Charity and Faith Mission Church. The center aims to address the community's needs beyond the church's walls. With the commitment of our devoted and altruistic staff, we have successfully operated for over two decades. The center's values align with the founding church's mission statement, emphasizing "Reaching people where they are, and equipping them for life and ministry."
It serves as an institutional vehicle for community development and amelioration
Objectives
- To offer accessible and holistic quality education to the community through Bophelong Community Independent School
- To offer a safe and quality learning environment for toddlers through Bophelong Pre-School
- To offer palliative Care, and a spiritually nourishing environment to terminally ill patients through Bophelong Community Hospice
- To fight against the scourge of HIV/AIDS in the community by encouraging voluntary counseling and testing at Bophelong Counseling Centre
- To offer care and shelter for orphaned and vulnerable children through Bophelong Children's Home
- To offer care and support for differently-abled children through Bophelong Disability Centre
- To offer support and care for the elderly through Bophelong Old Age Home
- To promote social cohesion by using holistic methods in order to tackle other social ills
- Partner with other organizations to implement this vision
The Church
General Overseer Titus and Pastor Sibongile Sithole founded Bophelong Community Centre in the year 2000. This was the culmination of their experience as missionaries in Katima, Namibia for over 10 years and the establishment of the mother organization Charity & Faith Mission church, that saw them create this onestop Centre of Hope, which provides free and easily accessible social and welfare services to the community of Mamelodi and surrounding areas. Bophelong is a SeTswana word, which means - "Where Life Is Sustained". The Centre is therefore well positioned as a "Haven for Life and Well-Being" it can be characterized as a cetral place of community development and amelioration The centre is situated within the premises of Charity & Faith Mission, but is run independently from the church to ensure proper accountability to our stakeholders.
